Nero3 ELC
Location:

How long have you been making stickers?
I’ve been doing slaps for about 3 years.
What inspired you to first start producing stickers?
I started doing stickers because growing up in NYC I saw slaps everywhere. So I decided that I wanted to do the same.
nero3 stickerWhat role would you say stickers play within the greater scope of art?
To me stickers play an important role in the graf game because it is a faster way to get up. I’m mostly into blackbooks so my goal is to have a slap in as many books possible.
Materials:
I use USPS and normal blank page stickers. I use Chartpak markers gel pens and a variety of paint markers.
What are some of your favorite places to put up slaps?
I honestly don’t like to do anything illegal (I used to but I stopped) – so right now I just want people to have my slaps in their blackbook or sticker collections.
nero3 stickerWhat is the longest one of your slaps has survived in the wild?
The longest one of my slaps survived in the wild was a couple of months. Some dude went over it and I’m not into beefing so it was whatever to me.
Have you ever had any run-ins with the law due to stickering?
Some cop went through my blackbook but I never really had any trouble with the law.
What other artists inspire you?
My inspiration for my slaps are comic books and cartoons. Graffiti wise I would say anyone who can rock a good slap. Even people in my crew like icky elc. If you’re awesome that just inspires me to want to be awesome as well.
nero3 stickerHave you ever had a funny/unusual experience stickering?
A funny story I can share was when I was drawing a slap in the subway one time. Some lady just kept staring at what I was doing. She seemed so thrilled to see my work but she couldn’t speak either englishb or spanish so she just kept giving me a thumbs up. Once I was done I gave her the slap. I dunno what she did with it but she almost caught a heart attack when I gave it to her.
Is it about quality or ups?
Quality all the way. I put work in my slaps. There are 100000 graff/sticker artists that make stickers everyday. Only a few get noticed. I want to make sure the quality of my slap catches your eye and you say “Oh shit that’s Nero3!”
nero3 stickerDo you collect/trade stickers with other artists?
I trade selectively and I most definitely collect.
Do you have a message you are trying to convey with your slaps?
I honestly try to put quotes based on how I feel. Sometimes people take it the wrong way but I don’t know. It’s mostly for me. My most favorite quote in my slaps is “Shout the truth even if your voice shakes”
